A recent project to update a beautiful historical Mt Eden villa and create a harmonious yet completely different living environment for our client proved an exciting challenge.
See the before and after images below.
Lounge area before
Given we weren't knocking any walls down or changing any of the structural elements of the home, this initially felt like a daunting ask.
We started with colours, only two they wanted to really feature in the home - greens and gold and they wanted to move to a more sophisticated feel while staying cosy.
Big entertainers, they needed the space to radiate an elegance & spacious feeling, while also being practical.
Lounge area after
What we did:
Repainted the whole room & trims
Walls - Resene Triple Sea Fog
Trims - Resene Double Alabaster
The wall colour created a softer and more sophisticated feel, while the bright white of the trims offset the colour to create a natural frame.
Relocated & recovered couches & chair from a different room to better suit the lounge.
Created a large Ottoman in a bold feature fabric, multi-use as extra seating and table area.
Couches - The Textile Co - 'Venice' Col 29
Chair - James Dunlop 'Chateau' Col Hot Teddy
Ottoman - Blendworth 'Kingdom' Col Royal
